one of several original and intact c. 1876 turned and tapered solid walnut wood interior commercial building staircase spindles likely fabricated by palmer, fuller & co., chicago, il. the well-built painted wood staircase spindle quite possibly may have been turned and installed by fehly frederick according to documents. the old red paint finish likely dates to the late 19th century. the spindle contains a distinctive profile. the solid walnut wood remains in great overall condition, considering age. several newel posts, both turned and comprised of solid walnut were salvaged from the structure. railings and matching spindles are available from each of the many staircases removed. spindles are sold separately. indicate quantity when ordering. height of 31 1/2 inches.
