largely intact c. 1920's american antique cook county hospital medical operating room stationary sterilizer side table or work station with a pivoting surgical instrument tray. the brushed metal medical cabinet was designed and fabricated by the columbus aseptic furniture co., columbus, oh. the lightly cleaned cabinet contains a single swinging pressed and folded heavy gauge steel instrument tray stand that can be easily detached for frequent cleaning. the original white porcelain enameled tray was lost long ago. the tubular steel frame is welded firmly together for added support and stability. the spacious cabinet contains a single cabinet door and two interior shelves. the original knob pull is affixed to the door. the tabletop contains a rail guard and supports. the bracketed side originally supported a sterilizer. the cabinets contains newly added varnished oak wood tops. measures 24 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 32 1/2 inches at the highest point.
