well-maintained 19th century ornamental cast iron american fireplace mantle keystone with a centrally located majolica-glazed profile or portrait tile. the 1880's victorian era keystone retains the original hand painted faux marble finish with gold-leaf pinstriping. the unsigned figural glazed ceramic tile is affixed to the backside with mortar. the mantel keystone was designed and fabricated in part by wm. l. perkins & co., cincinnati, oh.
