original and fully functional american machine age "edge glow" illuminated interior theater auditorium exit informational sign designed and fabricated by the voight company, philadelphia, pa. the singled-sided wall-mount sign contains a single thick clear glass panel with angled edges and deeply incised lettering. the c. 1930's art deco style edge-lit sign is equipped with metal housing that contains a single standard socket for use with a tubular incandescent light bulb. when lit, the informational sign emits a warm glow against the light green panel. the socket housing does contain a circular-shaped backplate that can be removed it one desires the exit sign to be hung from the ceiling. great overall condition. measures 10 x 3 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches.
