19th century antique american "brocade" pattern privacy lock salvaged from a c. 1883 chicago la salle street mansion undergoing renovation. the set consists of a diminutive mortise lock with single retractable deadbolt encased in a backed black enameled cast iron mortise lock box. the finger twist or handle with matching backplate are comprised of cast brass. original strike plate with field pattern design. nicely aged surface patina. fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct.
