original 19th century american anglo-japanese style ornamental cast iron residential "stork" door hinge with cast brass finials

early 1880's antique american anglo-japanese figural cast iron interior residential door hinge featuring storks on each of the leaves. the 19th century door hinge was fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the leaves retain the original baked black enameled inlay. the hinge knuckles show very little, if any, signs of excessive wear. the cast brass ornamental steeple-shaped finials with beaded border are intact. measures 4 x 4 inches.
