single late 1870's antique american victorian era ornamental cast brass interior pocket door backplate or escutcheon manufactured by the hopkins & dickinson manufacturing co., new york city, ny. the single pocket door plate, introduced in h & d's 1879 catalog, was referred to as "design no. 526." lightly polished finish aged over time. measures approximately 7 1/4 x 2 5/8 inches.
