repurposed early 20th century uniquely shaped cast iron factory machine base with outswept feet containing pre-drilled holes for securing to the floor. the machine base side table or nightstand contains a newly added solid hickory wood top with slightly recessed apron. the wood top is secured tightly to a small platform or deck with four pre-drilled holes. contains an exposed hollow cavity. salvaged from a chicago tool & die factory. completely refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. fabricated by john t. burr & son, brooklyn, ny. measures approximately 19 1/2 x 13 x 2 inches.
