two original and intact "new old stock" surface or flush mount galvanized steel wall sconces or ceiling pendants likely used in old walk-in coolers, etc. the period bulb guards or glass globes have threaded ends and a rich amber color. no cracks or breaks evident. the shade fitters were found in their original boxes with packing materials. the cloth cord and sockets have never been used. date to the late 1940's. fabricated by or for the appleton electric co., chicago, il. the galvanized steel remains in good condition. priced for the pair. each sconce measures 7 inches in height with a base diameter of 4 1/2 inches
