set of antique american ornamental cast iron interior residential doorknob and matching backplates possibly fabricated by the chicago hardware co., chicago, il. the oval-shaped doorknob backplates contain a single keyhole opening, with two screw holes for mounting purposes. the metallic copper "wash" accentuates the fine detailing. salvaged from a milwaukee foursquare residence built around 1900. backplates measure 7 1/8 x 2 3/8 inches and doorknobs measure approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter. priced for the set.
