pair of early 20th century original and intact antique american ornamental stamped steel interior residential doorknob backplates likely fabricated by lockwood or reading. the wrought steel passage door escutcheons or backplates have been refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the original pressed steel thimbles or collars are tightly secured to the backplates. measure approximately 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. priced for the pair.
