two matching refinished antique american "mir-a-kal" ray adjustable height radiant energy floor lamps designed and patented by james h. eastman of the j.h. eastman company, detroit, mich. the "light therapy" lamps are comprised of refinished tubular steel with telescoping rods bent at angles where the perforated sheet metal shades are mounted. the cast iron weighted bases feature sleek machine age stepped profiles. the spun aluminum deep bowl shades originally contained glass lenses for use with infra-ed, ultra-violet and "chrome therapy." the original wiring and plugs have been replaced. with minor adjustments made, the lamps have been repurposed into a great pair of matching reading floor lamps. brushed and/or sanded metal has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. priced for the pair. measures 18 inches wide x 61 1/2 inches high. shade measures 12 inches high x 9 3/8 inches in diameter.
