original antique american late 19th or early 20th century ornamental cast iron passage size doorknob possibly fabricated by barrows or the reading hardware company. the dome-shaped banded rim doorknob contains a centrally located deeply embossed floral rosette in a swirl configuration. the brushed metal doorknob has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original copper-plated finish remains largely intact. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
