thoroughly cleaned and refinished c. 1930's american depression era cold-rolled steel dresser cabinet designed and fabricated by the simmons manufacturing co., kenosha, wi. the streamlined style machine age compartmentalized dresser contains 4 sliding drawers with original cylindrical-shaped black bakelite handles or drawer pulls. the cabinet's exterior has been brushed, sanded and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. simmons was known for their all-metal furniture and bedding, designed especially for "hospitals, hotels, tourist cabins and steamships. salvaged from an old chicago hotel building. measures 41 1/2 x 19 x 32 inches.
