single-sided late 1920's american antique solid cast bronze lavatory door "private" plaque or sign designed and fabricated by the garden city plating & mfg. co., chicago, il. the flush mount vintage bronze sign was salvaged from the non-extant hulda b. rothschild nurses' residence building, located on the old michael reese hospital campus. the sign retains the original baked black enameled inlay, used to accentuate the fanciful raised lettering.
