SKU: UR-18796-13
heavy duty c. 1929 american industrial walk-in safe or vault door fragment containing a nickel-brass analog combination dial designed and fabricated by the mosler safe & lock co., cincinnati, oh. the solid steel door fragment and integrated dial were removed from an interior residential basement vault that has been sealed off for nearly 60 years. the dial sequence was lost long ago, so we managed to gain entry into the vault by cutting out the dial used to engage to door bolts. the inner doors contained a yale dead lock with the original key left inside. unfortunately, the vault was empty. the steel door fragment and lock have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. makes for a unique paper weight, etc. measures approximately 5 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches.
