late 19th century original and largely intact ornamental cast iron "indian lattice" pattern floor or wall register designed and fabricated by the tuttle & bailey co, new york city, ny. the oversized grate contains a mostly uniform black enameled finish. the grille was salvaged from a chicago commercial building built in the late 1890's. the louvers were damaged and/or removed long ago. the perforated grille is free from cracks or breaks. measures 18 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 22 1/4 inches
