original c. 1890's largely intact american antique victorian era fanciful interior residential staircase newel post cap possibly fabricated by palmer, fuller & co., chicago, il. the solid oak wood pyramidal-shaped cap contains deeply grooved parallel lines on each side. the cap is mounted to a beveled edge square-shaped base. surface wear consistent with age. three matching newel caps available. salvaged from a chicago graystone constructed around 1891. 8 in x 8 in x 5 in.
