large assortment of original antique american interior residential passage door keyplates or escutcheons. comprised of cast brass, bronze or iron. fabricated during the 19th century by a numerous manufacturers including, but not limited to, russell & erwin, sargent, yale & towne, p. & f. corbin, reading, mallory wheeler, etc. the large lot embodies several design characteristics and/or motifs popular during the 19th century. each keyplate features a single keyhole and two holes for mounting purposes. surface patina varies widely from one plate to the next. priced for the lot.
