c. 1920's vintage american medical university of chicago laboratory bench retort stand with uniform black enameled finish. the robust chemistry glassware holder contains fully adjustable graduating ring clamps with mounting brackets tightened around the solid steel rod. the weighted cast iron base contains deeply embossed manufacturer markings on the underside. retort stands are often used to support various glassware (e.g., beakers, tubes, flasks, etc.). fabricated by the biological supply co., rochester, ny measures 20 inches in height.
