original authentic interior office passage door hardware salvaged from the one north lasalle street building built in 1930 by architects vitzthum & burns – replacing the tacoma building by holabird & roche. the chicago art deco skyscraper is located across madison street from roanoke building. it was designated a chicago landmark on april 16, 1996, and added to the national register of historic places on november 22, 1999. its 5th floor relief panels depict the explorations of rené-robert cavelier, sieur de la salle. the streamlined style door hardware retains the original bower barff finish. the cast iron doorknob with graduating concentric rings and matching backplate were executed by the russell and erwin mfg. company (russwin), new britain, ct. priced for the knob and backplate.
