all original and intact antique american art deco machine age cast bronze metal interior lobby elevator floor indicator light possibly fabricated by the elevator supply company. the semi-round streamlined indicator contains two deeply etched arrow, curved and frosted glass inserts free from cracks or breaks. the interior housing retains the original low wattage white porcelain sockets with original applied enameled low-wattage incandescent bulbs. the "speed ring" accents between the glass inserts are especially striking. the single elevator lantern was salvaged from the c. 1932 former chicago post office central office building designed by the architectural firm of graham, anderson, probst & white. measures 8 x 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches.
