heavily reinforced early antique american industrial welded joint assembly plant workstation with extensive cross-bracing and rock solid refinished maple wood top

SKU: UR-23849-16
exceptionally well-built and heavily reinforced antique american industrial stationary assembly plant workstation salvaged from a detroit tool & die works factory. the unyielding heavy gauge steel base contains excessive cross-bracing on all sides with welded joints for added strength. crudely cut steel floor plates or "shoes" were added to each of the legs, providing additional support and stability. the solid rock-hard maple wood deck or tabletop bears surface wear and tear expected with use and abuse over the years. the outer surfaces have been carefully cleaned, refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the welded joint base likely dates to around 1915-20.
measures 20 x 17 x 32 1/4 inches.
