original c. 1900-10 antique american interior chicago "l" passenger car flush mount ceiling light with old "peerless" carbon filament "tipped" incandescent light bulb. the cast and wrought yellow brass train car fixture features a finely turned and tapered bulb cover concealing a keyless weber socket. the ornamental cast brass ceiling canopy features an intricately designed floral rosette in light relief. nicely aged surface patina. possibly fabricated by the beardslee chandelier mfg. co., chicago, il. original cloth cord wiring left intact. only one available. highly collectible chicago transit fixture.
