early 20th century all original salvaged chicago interior residential copper-plated cast iron fireplace surround possibly fabricated by the peerless mfg. co., louisville, ky. the fireplace surround or insert retains the original oxidized copper "tiger stripe" finish over cast iron. the protruding hood is accentuated with faux rivet heads. great overall condition.

Opening measures: 20" wide by 23.5" high
