all original hard to find 19th century antique american eastlake style "ivy" pattern cast brass exterior residential entrance door backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the backplate contains two keyhole openings with the original swinging keyhole cover intact. the uniquely-shaped protruding doorknob shank collar remains in great condition. mostly uniform surface patina throughout.
