original and well-maintained late 19th century antique american ornamental stamped metal interior residential fireplace summer cover designed and fabricated by the dawson brothers, chicago, ills. the heavily ornamented summer cover features a centrally located decorative urn with flame finial and surrounding ribbons flashed in copper. the summer cover was salvaged from an 1890s chicago greystone undergoing demolition.
