very unique and hard to find original antique american medical stationary hospital optometrist examination stool featuring a welded joint foot rest supported by a four-legged tubular steel base. the adjustable height with unusually long solid threaded steel spindle contain a slightly contoured sheet steel backrest riveted and welded against three curvaceous support brackets. the stool is supported by long heavy gauge tubular steel legs with welded joint steel rod cross-bracing. the footrest retains the original steel plate secured tightly to the angled steel frame. fabricated by the w.d. allison mfg. co., indianapolis, ind. thoroughly refinished and treated with a cleat coat lacquer. dates to 1910-20.
