original 19th century american victorian era ornamental cast bronze entrance door escutcheon manufactured by the trenton lock & hardware co., trenton, nj. unusual profile with octagonal rosette. thimble contains slight oxidation. nicely aged surface patina. contains two skeleton keyholes (the bottom hole reserved for the "master" key). fanciful scrolls and leafage consistent with this period. dates to 1885-89. measures approximately 7 3/4 x 2 1/8 inches.
