three matching original early 20th century intricately designed "panama" pattern interior residential passage door backplates designed and fabricated by the barrows lock company, lockport, il. the c. 1900's doorknob backplates are comprised of cast iron with the original copper-plated finish remaining largely intact. the distinctive richardsonian romanesque style leafage found along the top and bottom of each escutcheon is most impressive. the wrought steel thimbles or collars are tightly affixed to the backside of each plate. several matching sets available. salvaged from a milwaukee foursquare residence constructed around 1906. priced for the lot. 8 1/2" x 2".
