three matching c. 1900's american ornamental cast bronze "portsmouth" pattern doorknob backplates designed and fabricated by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. the bronze metal escutcheons contain an oil-rubbed bronze metallic finish used to accentuate the fine casting detail. the oversized escutcheos feature winged cherubs and aquatic creatures. original privacy latch finger twists removed long ago. each backplate measures 13 x 3 1/8 inches. priced for the lot.
