original photographic images of george h. edbrooke's 9-story hiram sibley warehouse (later known as the central cold storage company), located at corner of chicago river's north bank and clark street (nearly a block long, from clark to dearborn).
the heavily ornamented cast iron tie rod anchor plates feature design elements resonating strongly with the work of john edlemann, who's ornament was made into "stock patterns" by the union foundry.
the images were taken in february of 1971, shortly before it was demolished by national wrecking company.
