lot of five matching original and intact 19th century residential fireplace majolica fireplace tiles designed and fabricated by the international tile company, brooklyn, new york. the salvaged tiles feature a centrally located flower with abundant leafage. the olive green tiles exhibit allover crazing consistent with age. mortar has been cleaned from the backside. displays well. the antique american fireplace tiles were salvaged in the 1950's from a chicago mansion on wabash avenue during chicago slum clearance program.
