all original c. 1930's american art deco barber shop and/or beauty parlor desk or vanity fabricated by the emil j. paidar co., chicago, il. the desk is comprised of black painted wood with original formica tabletop. the four-legged base is comprised of tubular steel with original chrome plated finish largely intact. the desk contains a centrally located pull-out drawer with a smaller "sterilizer" compartment encased in glass. the chrome-plated steel handles or drawer pulls are original to the desk. the original faceted mirror is supported my a multitude of opposed vertical steel rods. measures 30 1/4 x 16 3/4 x 30 inches. with the mirror included, the overall height is 55 3/4 inches.
