four matching largely intact early 20th century american late victorian era hand carved darkly stained mahogany wood interior residential flushmount pilaster endcaps salvaged from the non-extant e.f. lasar mansion, located in st. louis, mo. the finely crafted single-sided pilaster capitals are fashioned in the form of classical palmettes or anthemions with volutes and leafage. the original varnished finish remains uniform and intact. the matching interior carved wood decorative elements were found throughout the first floot of the c. 1906 mansion built for e. f. lasar by architect oscar enders. lasar was the owner of a prominent ornamental iron foundry located in the st. louis area. the header or wood pilaster finials measure 10 x 9 1/4 inches. priced for the lot.
