well-maintained 19th century american eastlake style solid cherry wood interior residential fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by c.j.l. meyer & sons company, chicago, ills. the outstanding carved cherry wood full mantel retains the original beveled edge french mirror. the firebox opening is spacious enough to accommodate contemporary gas fireplaces. the wood finish is original and largely uniform throughout. great condition, considering age. salvaged from an 1880's chicago residence demolished long ago.
