remarkable all original c. 1920's exterior residential reinforced wrought and/or cast brass flush mount mail box attributed to the patent novelty company, fulton, il. the american craftsman or mission style mail box retains the original detachable brackets for supporting newspapers. the hinged top is lockable with integrated hasp for padlocks. the letter slot with flap or door remains intact. the gridded vent indicates whether the box contains mail. the backside of the mail box contains a thin sheet of brass to further protect the interior contents. the c. 1920's mail box has been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from a chicago craftsman residence. measures approximately 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 15 inches.
