rare and highly sought after original early 20th century american industrial salvaged machine shop desk or work stand originally used at the henry ford trade or apprentice school for boys in dearborn, mich., a suburb of detroit. the exact fabricator is not known. the cast iron deck, stand, and undershelf are fastened tightly together with heavy duty machine screws. the original stamped steel identification tag is riveted against the back of the work desk. the cast iron has been lightly brushed and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the surface patina is mostly uniform throughout. Item measures 38 1/4"h x 20 3/4" w x 17 7/8"d.
