magnificent original 1870's solid cherry wood interior residential fireplace over-mantel likely designed and fabricated by palmer, fuller, & company, chicago, ills. the hand-carved overmantel retains the original varnished finish. the three mirrors are free from damage or breaks. the intricate carved wood panels feature floral motifs consistent with the period. the salvaged chicago mantel piece was removed from a gold coast mansion demolished during the depression.
