original c. 1905-15 antique american industrial fully adjustable wall-mount hinged swing-out elevator cab operator stool designed and fabricated by the chicago hardware foundry company, chicago, il. the lightweight diminutive stool features a stamped and folded protruding bracket with a ball finial hinge on one side and a riveted joint collar or sleeve on the other. the pedestal base is secure and stable. the tubular steel upright supports a rotating solid threaded steel spindle that is mounted securely against the underside of the stool seat. the solid maple wood stool seat is original, but has been refinished. the steel and iron components have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the freestanding swing-out stool was salvaged from a chicago hotel otis elevator car or cab. seat diameter 11 inches, 22 inches in height, extends 12 inches
