original and largely intact late 1920's american antique ornamental cast plaster ceiling-mount floral medallion salvaged from the lawndale theater, designed by the architectural firm of r. levine & company and william p. whtiney. the theater closed in the 1950's and reopened as a church until its demolition in 2015. amazingly, the original hand-painted polychrome finish (applied in 1927) remains in great overall condition. the oversized circular rosette was carefully removed from the theater auditorium ceiling during interior renovation. the cast plaster medallion or rosette was likely fabricated by the decorators supply company, chicago, il. measures 19 inches in diameter.
