original early 20th century detroit board of education administration building office door emblematic hardware comprised of cast iron with original bower-barff enameled finish largely intact. the drum-shaped doorknob features a lightly embossed board of education seal. the unadorned escutcheon contains a single keyhole and four screw holes four mounting purposes. likely fabricated by yale & towne or possibly the sargent hardware company.
