early 20th century original heavily carved antique american ornamental salvaged chicago bedford limestone exterior wrigleyville apartment building facade plaque with age appropriate wear

c. 1905-15 original and intact nice-sized antique american rectangular-sized carved limestone salvaged chicago building plaque designed and likely fabricated by the bedford steam stone works, bedford, ind. the deeply carved plaque contains a centrally located anthemion flanked by volutes and leafage. the nicely weathered surface patina created added contrast between the design elements. the "stock" stone retains the original markings along the right side. the back is smooth, with any and all mortar removed. the stone plaque was salvaged from a wrigleyville apartment complex built in the early 20th century. the carved stone graced the man entrance way. the masonry or brick apartment building was demolished in march of 2016. measures 32 x 4 x 13 inches.
