early 20th century hard to find oversized salvaged chicago factory locker with hand-painted numbers on louvered doors

hard to find all original early 20th century original heavy gauge cold-rolled steel freestanding ten-unit factory locker designed and fabricated by or for the durand steel locker company, inc., chicago, il. the towering locker contains ten compartments with top and bottom ventilation louvers on each door. the original fanciful turned and tapered cast iron handles designed to secure the locker door with long latch bolts are free from damage. the heavy duty locker was salvaged from a chicago area factory, specializing in machine parts, pulleys and other castings. the massive locker contains an early green paint finish with hand-painted numbers assigned to each door. the original riveted joint number and manufacturer's plaque are comprised of stamp brass. several variations fabricated by durand from this period are available.
