original and largely intact c. 1940's american industrial mobile 8 x 10 view camera stand with fully adjustable wood table. the oversized stand with two fully functional hand cranks to raise/lower and tilt the board was designed and fabricated by or for the l.f. deardorff and sons, chicago, ills. the weighted cast base retains the original black enameled finish. manufacturer markings in the form of embossed lettering are located on the base between the casters. the base contains threaded steel rods and faucet-style handles to make stationary and stable. the two uprights retain the original heavy countermeasures attached to steel cables and a series of pulleys.
deardorff, specifically, "l.f. deardorff & sons, inc." was a manufacturer of wooden-construction, large-format 4"x5" and larger bellows view camera from 1923 through 1988. various models were constructed and used mostly by professional photographic studios. Item measures 96" x 32" x 31".
