original c. 1943-45 american art deco machine age recessed lavatory medicine cabinet designed and fabricated by the grote mfg. co., bellevue, ky. the medicine cabinet retains the original mirror with distinctive wheel or acid-cut geometric design motifs along the top. the flanking or opposed fluorescent tube sidelights with streamlined style housing remain in working condition. the built-in medicine cabinet contains both an on/off switch and outlet for small appliances (e.g., electric shaver, etc.). the hinged cabinet door conceals an all-white enameled steel compartment divided by adjustable plate glass shelves. the medicine cabinet was removed from a chicago athletic association building annex guestroom. limited quantity available. measures approximately 32 x 6 x 25 inches.
