american machine age streamlined style early 1940's vintage medical stationary hospital room side table designed and fabricated by the hard mfg. co., buffalo, ny. the cold-rolled brushed metal "life-long" brand cabinet or nightstand contains a single sliding drawer with simple and elegant sunken center wrought brass circular knob pull. the square-shaped tubular legs remain structurally sound and sturdy. the pressed and folded steel undershelf provides added support and stability. the brushed furniture sheet steel has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from the old michael reese hospital, chicago, il. measures 19 1/2 x 16 x 28 inches.
