early 1920's american gothic style oversized multi-light interior chicago church two-tone enameled hanging ceiling chandelier with original "bullet" shape shades

remarkable c. 1920's all original and completely intact oversized hanging four electric light chandelier ceiling fixture designed and fabricated by or for the harry alter lighting co., chicago, il. the massive gothic style chandelier was salvaged from a chicago church interior with very high ceilings. two matching ceiling fixtures were salvaged from this non-extant church building. each lighting fixture retains the original white opalescent or "milk" glass "bullet" shape shades. the center-most shade is the largest with three smaller shades surrounding it. the fitters with original threaded set screws contain ornamental brass leafage, strapwork and a rope motif. the original ceramic sockets are intact. the fixture retains the original two-tone gold and chocolate brown or bronzed enameled finish. the solid steel chains and ceiling canopy are original to the chandelier. the rayon cloth cord wiring will likely need to be replaced. great overall condition considering age. two matching fixtures available. priced individually. fixture diameter measures 22 inches x total fixture height measures 50 inches.
