all original c. 1930's hard to find and highly collectible american art deco style figural "electric log" fireplace andiron designed and fabricated by the universal electric log co., chicago, il. the fireplace andiron is comprised of cast iron with the original antique gold enameled finish largely intact. the andiron exhibits a vast range of decorative motifs and/or ornamentation, drawing upon an eclectic form of elegant and stylish trapezoidal, zigzagged, geometric, and jumbled shapes, coupled with elements of the more "primitive" arts of africa, ancient egypt and aztec mexico. the female bust or profile exhibits intricate and striking detail. the overall casting detail is truly exceptional. limited variations available. 9" base x 22" height.
