original early 20th century ornamental nickel-plated cast bronze new york city public school doorknob with embossed lettering surrounded by floral ornament. the interior emblematic oval-shaped doorknob was salvaged from one of the public school administration buildings within the city. fabricated by the sargent hardware co., new haven, ct. nice original surface patina left untouched. measures approximately 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches.
